One of the newer mass market cruise lines (Celebrity began back in l990) Celebrity Cruises is characterized by a bit more refined cruise experience, European-style
service, expansive staterooms, the largest spas afloat, and cuisine that has been critically acclaimed. Exceptional dining is one of Celebrity's strengths, thanks to Michel Roux, a well-recognized French chef. Contracted to design all of Celebrity's menus and
train staff, Master Chef Roux periodically sails on the ships just to insure that his high quality standards are consistently met.
And on Celebrity's newest style of ships, the "Millennium-class" vessels, uniquely designed specialty restaurants offer passengers a chance to dine in an even more sophisticated atmosphere, emulating the ambiance of transatlantic ocean liners that used to sail across the seas.

Celebrity ships also feature martini bars, champagne bars, the Cova Café de Milano (which serves specialty coffees and drinks at a nominal surcharge), and their own AquaSpa operated by Elemis. Ranked on the high end of the mass-market cruise line category, Celebrity's ships offer one of the best cruise values around
for groups.
Features include their "Celebrity Escape" program launched in 2002, which offers
sailings exclusively for adults only. In 2003, Celebrity Cruises developed new onboard enhancements for its guests, adding more than 100 additional services that range from afternoon sorbet and cold towels by the pool, and extended Aqua Spa hours, to sushi selections in casual dining areas and complimentary champagne upon embarkation.
In June 2004 Celebrity Cruises launched a sub-brand called Celebrity's Xpeditions, actually a yacht cruise program. The Celebrity Xpedition (a 100 yacht-like passenger ship) offers 7 to 10 day cruises around the Galapagos Islands chain. In addition, they have redone a partnering relationship with Cirque du Soleil, and will be adding
new ships to their fleet. These will be post-Panamax ships, 117,000 tons with a passenger capacity of 2,850 guests. Celebrity has a contract with for the first ship to be delivered in 2008, and an option on the second sister ship as well.
Celebrity Cruises now includes sailings to Antarctica, Alaska, Bermuda, the Caribbean, Europe, Galapagos, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama Canal, Pacific Coast, South America, and the South Pacific.
